Job Opportunity with Rayboy Insider Search

Our firm specializes in Storage/Software Sales, Engineering, and Management talent. Currently we are searching on several high level technical opportunities in the DC metro area. Our client is a multi-billion dollar software company and a clear market leader for what they do. They are currently expanding their consulting practice to meet the immense customer demand they are experiencing in the Intel community. We are searching on two positions, both requiring an active TS/SCI clearance. One will support a very high profile customer in Maryland and requires a Full Scope poly. Another will support multiple Intel agencies and can be based remotely in DC/VA/MD- this does not require a poly although it is preferred. Both roles require hands on capability working with backup, recovery and archiving solutions. This is an opportunity to work with a tier-1 market leader interfacing with marquee accounts.

My client is urgent and looking to interview and hire ASAP. I'd like to connect with you to see if you, or anyone you know, might be open to considering a strong opportunity at this time if it was advancement from your current role. Please let me know the best time/number to contact you at for a confidential conversation. If you have someone in mind that you think would be open to hearing about this or other strong opportunities in the storage/software space please send me their contact information so I can reach out to them.

January Reading List

Article from Barb Wixom:

How Sprint Nextel Reconfigured IT Resources for Results,
Richard LeFave, Bill Branch, Carol V. Brown, Barbara Wixom
MIS Quarterly Executive – Volume 7, Number 4, 2008

Abstract
Following the merger of Sprint and Nextel, the merged IT organization reduced costs by $424 million more than a year ahead of schedule. These cost savings stemmed from a reconfiguration of IT resources that reduced both annual IT operational expenditures and capital IT expenditures. To facilitate the reconfiguration, Sprint Nextel IT leaders applied new and proven practices—a program management office, application rationalization, insourcing, multichannel communications, and thoughtful human capital management.
The way in which Sprint Nextel IT achieved its IT merger goals adds significantly to our understanding of mergers. Even more importantly, though, it exemplifies how Sprint Nextel developed an IT resource reconfiguration capability. Sprint Nextel’s experience provides insights into how IT leaders can build such a capability, which is crucial for today’s turbulent business environments.
